Thomas Boylston – As prominent Boston merchants, the Boylstons inevitably joined in the growing dispute over Parliamentary regulation and taxation of American commerce and goods. Both the business papers illustrating this traffic and the letters of friends and associates such as William Cooper, Harrison Gray, Benjamin Hallowell, Daniel Leonard, Daniel Lisle, and Charles Paxton, reflect the mounting opposition to British authority and policy. The correspondence contains discussions of the revenue acts of the 1760s and 1770s, the arrival of British troops in Boston, the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill, the subsequent progress of the war, and the impact of the war on life and conditions in Massachusetts and Great Britain. Both John and Thomas supported the Crown in the dispute and, as a result, removed to England following the outbreak of hostilities.

• creating a folder for storing all Notebook files
• one strategy: Keep 1 large file of routines like morning meeting, blank charts + sub-unit files (i.e. take today’s resources and save them in one file)
• another strategy: once you develop a file for a unit, save a blank version as a “Template”.  When you’re ready to start

Insert an image in Notebook steps: 1) Open a new Notebook file, click “Insert” + “Picture File…” and find the Screenshot image on your desktop and select it (like attaching a picture to an email), 2) click on the screenshot image, click the dropdown menu arrow, and select “Link…”, then copy/paste the address of the video you’re linking to in the “Address” box, 3) click on the globe in the bottom of your screenshot to test the link

• The PTAs of Brooklyn’s public schools are coming together to sponsor a 5 kilometer race/walk/stroll/toddle in Prospect Park. Individuals and families can run, walk, stroll the loop around Prospect Park.
• Participants pay the registration fee, and then, if they want to help raise additional money, find people to sponsor them. There will be prizes for the top fundraisers!
• 50% of post race profits are divided evenly among qualifying schools and 50% is divided according to school size. Each school needs 20 or more participants to qualify for a portion of the prize.

Registration fees: $15 Individual, $25 Family
