In the spirit of Earth Day (tomorrow), 5th Graders are creating list poems on the theme of “Environmentalism” using this website. Each student will post at least one original line of poetry inspired by environmentalism, then add it as a “comment” or “reply” under this post.

Once the list starts growing, students will copy and paste their favorite lines from the list and post “REMIX” poems (make sure you write “REMIX” in your comment title).

This project demonstrates the opportunities that the Internet opens for us to collaborate, borrow and build on each other’s work to create unique voices!

Part 1 — the List Poem

Class 5-505 is writing a list poem on the theme of “The Environment”.

The lines of poetry are being collaboratively added under this blog post, creating a “List Poem”.

Part 2 — the RE-Mix

Then they are taking their favorite 5 lines and re-mixing them into new custom poems.
