The Parent Teacher Association of P.S. 130 will be holding candidate nominations for next year’s PTA Executive Board 2010–2011 officers and co-officers on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
All P.S.130 parents and legal guardians are eligible to nominate and be nominated during this process. This is a great opportunity to become part of a team working to make a difference at P.S. 130.
We ask you to please consider the duties of the officers before making any nominations:
President: Attends all meetings including Region/District Presidents’ Council; is a core member of the School Leadership Team; provides leadership for the members; delegates responsibilities, and encourages participation in all parent and school activities.
Vice-President: Assists the President and assumes duties in his/her absence or at the President’s request.
Secretary: Takes minutes during all PTA meetings, prepares notices, and presents minutes to the members.
Treasurer: Responsible for all financial affairs and funds of the PTA, keeps current financial records, and presents reports to parents during PTA meetings.
Officer at Large: Attends meetings, gives assistance to other officers in making executive decisions as needed.
If you feel you or another parent qualifies for an Executive Member position, you may make your nomination at the next PTA meeting on Thursday, April 22, 2009 at 5:30 pm. Those who are unable to come to the meeting, but who would like to make a nomination, may complete and return the Nomination Recommendation Form by Monday, April 19th, to your child’s teacher (this form will come home soon in your child’s backpack). Note: Elections will be held at the May PTA meeting and voting is open to all parents, legal guardians, and teachers.
The Nomination Committee
