PS130 will be holding candidate nominations for next year’s School Leadership Team (SLT) on Thursday May 23, 2013. There are 2 vacancies at this time. Term of service is 2 years. All parents and legal guardians are eligible to nominate and be nominated.
The SLT is made up of 50% staff and 50% parents, who have a shared goal of establishing an environment, with the help of the school community, where all children can learn and achieve to their full potential. The Principal, PTA President, UFT representative (or their designees) are automatically on the team; other members are elected by their constituencies.
The SLT creates the school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP), including annual goals and objectives; consults with the principal in developing a school-based budget and staffing plan aligned with the CEP. The CEP that the SLT develops is a planning document that represents the collective wisdom and recommendations of all parts of our school community. The team is also responsible for assisting with the evaluation and assessment of the school’s educational programs and their effect on student achievement.
If you feel you or another parent qualifies for an SLT position. you may make your nomination at the next PTA Meeting on Thursday May 23, 2013 at 5:30pm. Those who are unable to come to the meeting, but who would like to make a nomination in writing can send it in to the school by Friday May 17, 2013. For each nomination, please include include your name, the nominees name, and a phone number you may be reached at. Note: Closing nominations and elections will be held at the May 23, 2013 PTA Meeting and voting is open to all parents and legal guardians.
