Pre-K plays a new math game called Hide and Peek. The game prepares children for addition and subtraction up to 10.

In this game, the children are given a set number of tiles. For example the partners would take six tiles.  Some tiles are placed on the table for the partners to see then player one hides the remaining tiles behind his or her back with some in each hand. Player one asks, “Which hand do you want to peek in?” Player two chooses a hand and the tiles are revealed. Now player two must figure out how many tiles player one has in his or her other hand.

Families can play this game at home using coins or buttons or beans or any small objects.
