Arts Connection

This group connects artists with children, families and schools in creative partnerships for teaching and learning.
Through the art of puppetry and music-making, students are encouraged to explore their own creativity.  Click here to see what ArtsConnection is doing at PS130

University Settlement After-school Program

This program fosters social, emotional, physical, moral and cognitive development through creative, project-based
learning. It also emphasizes literacy and education providing homework help, tutoring and the opportunity to use
reading and writing as tools for exploration.

Cooper Union

College students from Cooper Union visit our school in the spring and share hands-on science and math activities
related to the field of engineering.

Carnegie Hall

Grades K-2 “Musical Explorers” – A curriculum of multi-cultural music which allows students to attend two interactive
concerts at Carnegie Hall. Grades 3-5 “Link-Up” – Students learn to play the recorder and perform in an interactive
concert at Carnegie Hall.

Chess-in-the Schools

A chess-master comes to teach students the strategic game of chess.

Wellness in Schools

This program brings nutrition and cooking classes to Grade 3. Coach for Kids, a sub-group, actively combats
schoolyard bullying by building positive social skills through play and fosters a sense of excitement around fitness.

Girls on the Run

This is an interactive life-skills program that uses the power of running to change the way girls, ages 8-13, see
themselves and their opportunities.

Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility

Morningside Center has developed a range of research-based programs that improve students’ social and emotional
intelligence and academic performance through the 4R’s (Reading, Writing, Respect & Resolution).

The Media Spot

The Media Spot integrates media literacy education through digital media production at our school.

AUSSIE Consultants

AUSSIE consultants are a team of professional educators with decades of experience as teachers, coaches,
administrators, curriculum planners and professor who bring a global perspective as they support our teachers to
incorporate best practices from around the world.

Legal Lives

Legal Lives brings the criminal justice system to Brooklyn’s elementary school classrooms. District Attorney’s staff,
private attorneys, corporate volunteers, judges from Supreme and Criminal Courts and teachers work together to teach
students about the law and its role in their lives.

Brooklyn College

Brooklyn College student teachers have collaborated for the past 10 years. It allows them the opportunity to learn from
our experienced teachers. Meanwhile, it gives our teachers an additional adult support system to assist with the students
in the class.

Pencils

Pencil pioneered the idea of improving student achievement by developing and supporting long-term partnership
between businesses and Public Schools.

Pratt Institute

Pratt Institute offers PS 130 students Art Scholarships. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of media,
techniques and approach in Art.

New York Cares

This group facilitates a morning reading program as well as afterschool enrichment clubs.
