At PS 130 the Physical Education curriculum is in alignment with the National Association for Sport and Physical Education Standards (NASPE) and the New York State learning standards for Physical Education. We believe that Physical Education and Nutrition should be an interactive and positive experience. It is our goal for students to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to establish and maintain physical fitness, participate in physical activity, and maintain personal health in their daily lives.
Children at PS 130 are engaged in various activities to improve basic and complex motor skills, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, endurance, and body composition.
Students will participate in meaningful physical activities to help improve overall health and nutrition. Students will develop physical skills and establish personal fitness goals to work towards accomplishing throughout the year.
