What is the SLT?

What is the SLT, and how is it different from the PTA, the CEC, or any of the other hundred mysterious acronyms that exist in the magical land of the NYCPS?
The SLT is a group of elected parents, teachers, and other school staff whose focus is the school community and culture and making it as happy, healthy, and successful for students as possible. This includes evaluating the educational goals set for the school each year, analyzing different data sources that look at student achievement and wellness, and thinking how to best serve the students and their families.

If you are interested in joining the SLT, please fill out the form below, as well. We are always looking for a diverse group of voices and ideas to help us troubleshoot issues that present themselves throughout the year.

SLT meetings are held once per month during the school year in person at the Upper School on the first floor @ 4:30PM.

Want to join the SLT?

The SLT is a school steering committee that identifies and discusses issues such as curriculum, school procedures and policies, and future growth. It comprises the principal, the PTA president(s), a UFT representative, elected parents, and teachers. All SLTs must have an equal number of parents and staff. Elections for parent members are held each September. The Principal, a PTA Co-President, and a UFT representative (or their designees) are automatically on the team.
