Special Programs

We offer the following to our students through outside partnerships, afterschool specialists, and special programs facilitated by our staff.

5th graders document a Maker Challenge in the PS 130 Fablab

The Makerspace

Through a partnership with BEAM Center our teachers co-design and facilitate maker challenges for our students in grades 3-5 that create differentiated hands-on student-driven collaborative projects that enhance standard units of study. As part of this interdisciplinary project, students also work during their media literacy cluster to document the learning process using digital media. The video above — a collaboration between 5th graders and The Media Spot — showcases all of the above as a learning tool for teachers and students alike as they continue to develop Fablab experiences!
